Dante’s train inauguration

4 June 2021

Dante’s Train will be inaugurated on June 26, and will then travel on the Faentina railway line – the first in Italy to cross the Apennines – on Saturdays and Sundays starting from July 3 and until October 10 for a total of 28 days.

The itinerary starts from Florence and arrives in Ravenna with four intermediate stops on both the outward and return journeys: Borgo San Lorenzo and Marradi (in the Tuscan territory), Brisighella and Faenza (in the Romagna region).

The first symbolic journey of the convoy is scheduled for Sunday 6 June with departure at 2.30 pm from the Florence station. Maestro Riccardo Muti will travel on board and will stop in Marradi (Fi) where he will conduct the ‘Luigi Cherubini’ Orchestra on the occasion of the reopening of the historic academic theater of the Animosi. The train will then welcome all the orchestras to continue towards Ravenna, arriving in the evening (8 pm).
